Candle Mat Penny Rugs (Donna V)

The candle mats are used the same as doilies are. They are approximately 6 inches in diameter and may not be exactly as shown. Some of them will be embellished with buttons or beads, and others will just have the stitching. The small circle (penny) is stitched on top of the bigger circle and then stitched on the scalloped shaped circle, and then that is stitched on top of a second shaped circle so you don't see any stitching on the bottom of the piece.
